This article in Forbes about the basics of business insurance quotes a VP of the Insurance Information Institute as saying "Of the 11 million home-based businesses in the United States, the majority could not survive fire, burglary or a lawsuit" and, "There's a general misconception out there that homeowners insurance will cover a home-based business." Both statements are very true.
