Colleges Focusing on Entrepreneurship Studies
Colleges and universities are increasingly trying to meet student demand for courses related to being an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship has become one of the fastest growing curricula in higher education, even in schools that were not previously known for business education, according to the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Mo.
More than 300 four-year nonprofit colleges and universities now offer courses in entrepreneurship designed for students who don't enroll in business school. And, the percentage of graduating MBA students who are considering entrepreneurship has risen from only 1 or 2 percent in 1980 to between 10 and 20 percent today.
