Barkdsale AFB Offers Free Virtual Assistant Training
Sunday October 15, 2006
The Shreveport Times reports that Barksdale Air Force Base has begun offering free training to military spouses on becoming a virtual assistant. Being a military spouse may mean frequent moving around the world, making it difficult for spouses to latch on to traditional types of employment. The three-day training program, which is limited to classes of 20, will be provided twice yearly to qualififed candidates, with the next scheduled program to begin in April, 2007.
While the program availability is extremely limited, it points out the need for military spouse training and emphasizes the flexibility that running a home-based business can offer. Hopefully, additional military organizations will follow suit and the program will become a benchmark for future military spouse home business programs.
