Home Business Idea: Country Antiques Dealer

Monday October 30, 2006
When Ann Kuehn and her husband, Al, moved to Greenwood, SC about 20 years ago, they bought a farm with 12 acres in the southern end of Greenwood County, complete with an 1800s farm house and numerous rustic outbuildings. This setting provided the perfect backdrop for Ann to collect and display beloved early American country pieces she "searched out" while antiques shopping, according to this article in the Index-Journal.

Their farm, High Grove, is now home to their home based business,Straw Broom Primitives, which is an antiques shop located in the cook's cabin not far from the house. While preparing for antiques shows at their farm is hard work, Anne and her husband Al enjoy the people they meet through their shows and in the travel opportunities their home based business provides.

According to their website, all seasons are celebrated on the farm. "We welcome Fall with fresh pumpkins, gourds and the ever sought after bittersweet. Christmas at Straw Broom is truly a Country Christmas...a warm fire and fragrant evergreens welcome you as you shop for handcrafted Santa's, Snowmen and Holiday Folkart."

Sound like fun? Having a home based business really does provide an opportunity for fun when it allows you to pursue your passion!
