Convergys to Add 100 Work from Home Jobs
Monday January 15, 2007
Convergys Corp is adding 100 work from home jobs to its operation
based in the Chattanooga, TN area, according to this article in the Tennessee Valley Business News. About 70 of these work from home jobs
are expected to be full-time. Day and evening work at home shifts will be available.
The company offers a training program that will be held in the Chattanooga area before the new employees can begin telecommuting. Convergys sees the addition of the work from home positions as an opportunity to decentralize in order to reduce some risks, such as bad weather and other conditions that might prevent onsite workers from reporting to work and hampering the company's call center operations.
Convergys started with pilot telecommuting sites in Logan, Utah, Moore, Oklahoma and Pocatello, Idaho before deciding to launch the work from home program in the Chattanooga area.
