SF Freeway Bridge Collapse May Provide Telecommuting Options
Tuesday May 1, 2007
The crash of a fuel tanker truck and the resulting meltdown of a major freeway overpass in the San Francisco Bay area promises to snarl traffic for rush-hour commuters for months to come. If you commute to and from work in the area and you haven't yet been given the chance to work from home, now would be a good time to approach the boss with the idea.
If you are given the opportunity to telecommute you'll want to make sure you leave a good impression. This is no time for slacking off if you want to prove that you are sufficiently trustworthy to work from home at least some of the time.
Even if you don't live in the San Francisco Bay area, you could approach the boss with the idea of setting up a work from home contingency plan. That way, if something like that ever happens in your neck of the woods, the plan could be implemented very quickly.
