Starting a Home-Based Business

Sunday August 12, 2007
Starting a home business takes a lot of careful forethought and planning before you even open your doors for business. First, you need to understand if you are suited to owning and running a home business, then you need to decide what type of business to start and go about planning on how you'll pull it off, beat the odds and become a success. Trying to choose which business to start can be mind-boggling enough, but if you have some capital to invest or can get funding, you may also need to decide between starting from scratch or buying into an existing franchise.

Massimo Maccari, About.com's guide to Franchising provides an overview of the benefits and disadvantages of buying into a franchise as a means of starting your own business at home.
