Necessity - The Mother of Invention?

ABC15.com out of Phoenix, AZ provided this inspiring story about stay-at-home mom, Amy Maschue, and her home business idea that is starting to pay off. Amy's story proves that necessity can be the mother of invention.

The piece reports that Maschue launched her home-based company, Modest Middles, last October and that her idea was born while nursing her infant and needing to rescue her son off of some playground equipment at the same time. Amy's idea started when she began making homemade tank tops for nursing by cutting "u" shapes into her existing tank tops and grew to the point where she eventually began making professionally-tailored nursing tank tops. The need she filled? To do away with women exposing side and back fat while nursing.

That day in the park became the catalyst for her business idea when another mom saw her custom tank top and asked where she got the shirt. When Amy told her she made it herself, the other mom said she would be willing to buy them. It just goes to show you that you never know when a lucrative business idea will present itself. How you subsequently act on it is key to being a home business success.
