I recently received an email from reader D.A. of Port Richey, FLA:
Dear Sir,

Not too long ago you had posted information for people with disabilities about the JLODGE company. I was just wondering if you have gotten any new information on this work at home company that states they hire persons with disabilities for gainful employment?

So far, two vocational rehabilitation counselors that I know have been unable to contact this company. Any insights or information would be most appreciated.
I checked the J. Lodge website and didn't see anything unusual going on. Likewise, a Google search didn't turn up any indication that the company was no longer operating. So I sent this message to the folks at J. Lodge:
I am the Guide for About Home Business on About.com (homebusiness.about.com). I had previously encouraged my disabled readers to contact J.Lodge for work opportunities. Today I received a question from a reader wondering if you are still in business as an acquaintance of theirs has not been able to reach you.

Can you please let me know your company's status at this time?
And I quickly received this response from the company:
Yes we are still operational! The following is how one can apply with us.

Thank you for thinking of J.Lodge. Our current policy is to accept applications that come through Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors only. We work with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRC) throughout the country in hiring for our work at home positions. The counselors do the prescreening for us and when they find a qualified candidate they give them our online application.

Please see your counselor or if you are not currently working with a VRC check with your state agency to see how you can get assigned a counselor. If your counselor is not aware of how to obtain the application, have them contact Theresa Fiorello at tfiorello@jlodge.com to acquire.

A Happy Ending for a Disabled Worker

I forwarded the company's message to the reader and got this response:
Thank you very much for looking into this. I really appreciate it. I was able to get the information when I provided my Voc. Rehab counselor with the info you had supplied and also had looked up a few of their employees on Linked In. It appears to be a good company to work for. I enjoy your about.com information and wish you continued success.
All's well that ends well. I'm glad I could help. Maybe this information will help others out there whose vocational rehab counselors have been unable to reach J. Lodge.

I work for JLodge company of Florida. I have for 8 months now. With my DVR rep I was given a link where to apply and once pre-approved went thru interviews. The company is wonderful! Each person on my team has a disability and live throughout the united states. The computer is vital to the job and to the online team attitude. If you know your way around the computer talk to JLodge about hiring you.

Thanks for your insight. As the company indicated, if you want to work for J. Lodge you need to have your vocational rehab counselor reach out to them. Glad this is working well for you, I hope others will benefit too.
