More Information About this Home Business:

From the Entrepeneur

I started The HBB Source officially in May 2004, but I've been coaching and mentoring professionals in areas of transition and personal growth for many years.

Previously I was a 911 operator, a member of a major crime division of a police service and I finished my career in the police field as a payroll coordinator. Throughout my "working" life, I've maintained a home business providing bookkeeping services to small businesses.

The transition into full-time coaching came naturally. When I decided to become a full-time entrepreneur, I pursued dual certification as a Life Strategy and Business/Executive Coach to complement my prior experience and training in human resources, communications and management.

In order to meet the growing interest in home business, I created a home study program to help new business hopefuls start from a place of clarity and confidence. I read so many books, enrolled in numerous programs and studied with so many experts in various fields that I almost buried myself in information overload. My biggest problem was not knowing what information I needed or in what order I needed to know it so I just absorbed everything I could get my hands on without planning ahead.

I believe that becoming confused and overwhelmed are two of the major stumbling blocks to home business success, so today I spend the majority of my time getting people started on the right path by helping them understand what they need to know and in what order they need to learn. My home study program allows business hopefuls to help themselves without paying large sums for private coaching or trial and error. After completing the program, they have access to the added support of a coach to help increase their chances of success.

The HBB Source provides additional resources. Emphasis is placed on delegating, automating, leveraging and systematizing processes to free the owner up to focus on what matters most to entrepreneurs -- building their business.

From your Guide to Home Business

Laurie's right - sometimes you get so passionate about what you want to do that you're eager to learn everything at once. It pays to plan ahead. Doing so will help keep you focused in your efforts, increase your chances for home business success and help you avoid wasting time and money by going in circles without a clear direction. Notice how she built on her prior experience and knowledge. These are great building blocks for getting started.
