I know you're personally involved in conducting seminars and you seem to be active in trade shows, etc. Tell me a little bit about these activities.

I love to teach people the right way to clean as well as healthy chemical-free cleaning methods. My products are presented during these seminars but I also offer safe alternatives to what I sell. My cleaning tips work and the fact that I'm not shoving my products at people builds trust. When they trust me, they also trust that the products I carry are the best available and that they have been well tested.

I attend trade shows like Cleaning Conventions to find new products to bring into my line keeping the line fresh. I have also presented seminars at the national residential cleaning association. Most seminar presentations are to the RV industry - both at rallies and to RV manufacturers in teaching them how to clean the RVs they manufacture. I also give seminars at home shows and for fund raisers. Yes the seminars expand company exposure a great deal. People try my tips and suggestions, find they work and they tell everyone they know to head to my website. I have often been told that my tips work where even those of Heloise and the Queen of Clean have not.

Are there specific personality traits or skills that would help a potential Mary Moppins distributor to be successful?

Distributors must be people oriented and have self confidence. Patience is also a virtue if they are going to do wholesale sales. If they choose to present cleaning seminars they need to be able to have the confidence to be in front of a group of people. If they don't want to present seminars then they need networking skills and connections. It is a must for them to thoroughly learn the products by using them. This builds confidence in the products. That confidence comes across to whomever they are talking to and it sells.

If they choose to sell wholesale being able to close a sale is a must. They cannot be afraid of asking for the sale. I can teach them closing techniques but they must be able to come across with confidence and ask for the order.

Being able to follow directions is mandatory. I've had distributors fail because they decided doing things their way was a better way to go. Following a proven format is a must for success. It's like owning a Subway shop. You are going to fall flat if you don't do exactly as your training teaches you and the manual specifies.

Good organizational skills are always beneficial and necessary for any successful business.

Do you offer any training opportunities for distributors?

Distributors are given hard copy information on products, how to present cleaning seminars and the sales presentation for the products. I walk them through everything they need to know.

If needed, people can come to Eugene for training. I am pulling material together to do that. All distributors are welcome to attend a trade show and work my booth with me to learn about the products and then sit in on my seminars. So yes training is available and I encourage them to attend a trade show and work with me in the booth. It's a fast way to obtain a lot of information in a short period of time.

What happens if someone buys products from a Mary Moppins distributor and is not satisfied with what they've received? Does Mary Moppins handle returns and exchanges or does the distributor get involved in this? If products are returned, is there a charge against the distributor's earnings?

Products can be returned as long as they are in excellent condition. If the product is returned from a sale made through a distributor it must be returned to the distributor for credit since I do not handle the direct sale. I do not get involved in these returns unless there is a manufacturing defect in the product.

Is there anything we haven't discussed that you feel people exploring the Mary Moppins home business opportunity should know?

Affiliate website members will find that checks are sent regularly and on time. Both distributors and affiliates can have full confidence that Mary Moppins products are the highest quality that can be found and that quality will never be compromised in order for the company to make a few more dollars.

I am always open to new ideas for marketing and am willing to do what it takes to bring that idea to life if feasible. Right now one of my boat detailers is making plans on selling my Advantage and a few other products under his own brand. I'm working very closely with him to achieve this goal.

Possibilities are only limited by a person's imagination.
