Before you close up shop (your home office) for the day, make a list of what you want to accomplish tomorrow. By following this work at home tip and sticking to it, you won't waste time in the morning trying to decide what you need to do that day.
I use large, ruled post-it note pads for my daily to do lists, but you can use whatever works for you. As you complete each item, cross it off the list. If you don't complete an item on the list by the end of the day, include it in the next day's list and then toss the old list.
When you start working at home the next morning, review your list and see if there are any priorities that need to be done first. Crossing off items as you complete them provides a sense of accomplishment you wouldn't get if you hadn't mapped out your day using a to-do list.
If I'm doing work at home on weekends, I usually combine my to-do items and try to fit them in as time allows. That's because sometimes I'll work Saturday, sometimes Sunday and sometimes both days of the weekend. Any items not completed by Monday can be carried over to Monday's list. I usually prepare Monday's list Monday morning, but you could also make your list when you know you have put in all of your time working at home for the weekend.
