If you own a home, be sure to contact your mortgage company as soon as possible. You would be surprised how flexible they could be in payment arrangements, especially if you have a good history with them.

While it may seem a sacrifice, eliminating non-essentials from your budget is one way to help make your money stretch farther during the month. The other problem is that eliminating non-essentials often means that those who provide us with these non-essentials see drops in demand during a recession, make it harder for the economy to recover.
