Not working was not a Option
- I looked at everything, I spent a less than $500. Nothing was working I was just spending my wheels. I ordered a book and there was a brochure in the box after reading. I signed up for three affiltate sites Commission Junction, Linkshare and Pepperjam. I get lots of clicks over a thousand per month. I keep tweeking my advertising to produce money, on the blogs. My website does better with a newsletter. Its just a matter of time. I am looking for work, I have greatly improved my computer skills and web design in additional I have learned the art of patience. Jasaminetmi - Great information! Good luck to you and congratulations on making your own way to success. Randy D.

Not great fit for corporate america
- I started working from home after being laid off too many times by companies that closed or went bankrupt. Sort of out of desperation. I'd always wanted my own marketing/writing business but didn't think I could make it happen and make a living at it. It's taken alot of persistence and as LaShon said lots of networking and searching for projects but I'm happy to say I'm busy, busy, busy. Breakingnews: Very glad to hear it happened for you! You and I are pretty much in the same boat and followed the same path. Randy D.

Single Mom Needed Flexibility
- As a mother, I wanted a flexible schedule to be more available for my children. I went back to school to get more training and started my business a year later. I found consulting opportunities through referrals, classifieds and ads I posted on forums & Google. However, it is a numbers game. So be prepared to submit many proposals and inquiries only to receive a small percentages of responses. However, the joy comes from the work you do for the client.

Work at Home Came from Necessity for Me
- I've worked from home in the past as a telecommuter, but currently I'm working from home as a full-time freelancer. I was laid off, and after not being able to find even an in-office job after a year of frustrated searching, I decided to offer my services as a freelancer. In the 6 years since I made that decision, I've only had to work on a regular schedule at a client's office twice.
