Virtual Assistants Can Help Grow Your Business

Wednesday September 20, 2006
Virtual assistants can handle some of your daily tasks, including your administrative support tasks, allowing you to focus on what you do best. Since virtual assistants work from their own location you don't need to worry about them coming to your home or providing space or equipment for them to do their job. By outsourcing tasks (even those you can do yourself when you're overloaded) to a virtual assistant, you'll have more time to spend plotting strategy for your home business.

This article looks at the tasks that virtual assistants can complete for an Internet marketing business, but their utility is not limited to Internet marketing businesses. If you've been wanting to grow your business but are finding it difficult to keep up with demand, bookkeeping, marketing chores, and the myriad other things we home business operators have to handle, hiring a virtual assistant to outsource some of your work could the answer your home business has been looking for. And, finding a virtual assistant can be done through an online directory, such as www.getyourassistant.com.

Have you ever worked with a virtual assistant? How did you find your V.A. and what were your experiences like?

I have worked as a VA for years, to supplement my Internet Marketing efforts. It worked out for me so well that my husband was able to join me and expand the business to offer a wider variety of services. We have now come to the point in our business where we ourselves need some Virtual Assistance. The way I look at is, I’d rather pay someone $20 an hour and get a $50/hour client taken care of rather then hope I can get to the work myself when I’m clearly overloaded. For general businesses, consider how much your time is really worth. How many leads could you get or products developed if you had someone doing the mundane day to day tasks like answering your email… even wading through your spam! VA’s are the way to go for sure.

Great comment, Lori. It’s like Kathy Ireland told me, you can’t be afraid to ask for help. I’m finding this out first hand too. I hope someday you’ll contact me to tell me more about your home business – perhaps I can feature it on the About Home Business site!

I have hired VA’s for several years now. I could not have grown my business to the size it is without their help.

What I find very helpful is to have my projects planned out in order not to waste their time or mine.

A virtual assistant can be the greatest asset you can have for your business. I’ve been on both sides of the coin. I’m a virtual assistant and written numerous books on how to become a virtual assistant, and I also have several awesome virtual assistants that work with me. My business could never be where it is today without these virtual assistants. You can only do so much in a day, but when you have a VA on your team, it’s like having more hours in the day. I love it! Diana Ennen, http://www.virtualwordpublishing.com
