Reward Yourself for Meeting Your Goals
Tuesday January 16, 2007
Now that the New Year has come and gone, you may have given quite a bit of thought about setting goals and making resolutions for the year ahead and your home business. One thing that's easy to overlook is rewarding yourself for meeting your home business goals and objectives.
Rewarding yourself for meeting your business objectives is a good practice to get into because it encourages you to meet additional objectives and goals for your business that haven't yet been achieved. It's just another means of motivation that will help keep your business momentum going throughout the year.
I've made it a personal practice to treat my wife to dinner whenever I sign on a new client. Because I work from home, my home business impacts her life, too and I see it as a small token of payback for her assistance in all that I do. It also makes the whole process of pursuing and signing a new client more fun.
If you haven't yet done it, I encourage you to go back and look at this year's goals and objectives for your home business. What kinds of rewards would be most appropriate for achieving them? If you already engage in the practice of rewarding yourself for meeting your objectives, I'd love to hear what kinds of rewards you've incorporated into your home business planning.
