Wednesday October 22, 2008
Working from home is gaining in popularity these days, both from the worker's and the employer's standpoint. This article by Wendy Betterini, outlines what she says are 5 traits necessary for anyone to be a successful telecommuter.
While the traits that Wendy discusses, like professionalism and dependability are certainly necessary to successfully work from home, the article fails to mention anything about self-discipline, organization or a variety of other traits required for successfully working from home.
The traits discussed for telecommuter success are really necessary for success on the job in general. Still, the five traits she does include make a decent start for what to focus on when you are trying to convince your current employer to let you work from home.
