Happy Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Thursday November 27, 2008
Starting a Business at the Holidays - Mother and Daughter Preparing Thanksgiving Dinner While you're running around to shops looking for last minute gifts or baking up a storm in the kitchen and worrying about getting your holiday decorations in place, it's probable that you're not thinking about shopping at the mall or online today. That's one more thing to be thankful for!

As Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday shopping season, I thought today would be a good day to mention Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year for most brick and mortar stores, followed by Cyber Monday - the Monday following Thanksgiving - traditionally the biggest shopping day for online stores. Many speculate that Cyber Monday occurs because office workers return to their high-speed Internet connections at work. Because of the struggling economy, this promises to be a very interesting holiday season for retailers. It also promises to be an opportunity for shoppers to see exceptional bargains as retailers chase fewer dollars in the marketplace.

So regardless of what your financial situation is right now, enjoy the holiday season, be happy in the joy and promise that it brings, and take time to make the season special for those you love. And, if you can manage to do it, this would be a terrific year to offer to help others in greater need.

Have a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving and a happy holiday shopping season! In the meantime, if you have an online business and want to boost your sales for the holiday season, you may want to check out some of these topics:
