In today’s economy, starting a home business is absolutely the best way to go. It provides extra income and excellent tax savings. Everyone should be doing it.

Can’t argue with you there, Robert, except that starting a business is not for everyone. Sure makes it hard to get fired or laid off though.

I found my perfect work from home job on a site called GoMatador.com . I cannot speak highly enough about this site. They are essentially a job search site for people seeking home based opportunities. 3 weeks after signing up with my company, I set up a profile on GoMatador.com and have fielded MANY leads from it. Profiles cost a little money, but it keeps the scams off and keeps all the listings current. I give it the highest marks for job search AND for lead generation!

Susan:
Thanks for the info. GoMatador.com appears to be fairly new. I don’t see anything wrong with it, but visitors need to remember your assertion:

“They are essentially a job search site for people seeking home based opportunities. “

is contradictory. Actually, there are no jobs there – these are all home business, affiliate-type, franchise and MLM OPPORTUNITIES, not work at home jobs. I’m still trying very hard to get my readers to understand the difference between a home business opportunity and a work at home job.

The other caution I want to advise comes directly from GoMatador’s Terms of Service:

“GoMatador.com contains third party links, including advertisers and profiles of individuals and companies. Our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy do not extend beyond the GoMatador.com site. Please be aware of where a chosen link may lead you.”

Again, visitors need to exercise the usual caution – not only in carefully checking out any home business opportunity to make sure it’s right for them, but to be aware of links and ads on the site, as you need to with any site, including mine. Do your homework, and don’t let your guard down.

Otherwise, GoMatador looks like a pretty decent place to browse around. They accept payments from those who place opportunities there. Apparently everything is free for those who want to browse for opportunities – but you need to set up a free account to do so. Fairly new site, operated by 3 individuals who seem to provide a good service and the company is actually a good example of a small startup trying to provide a useful service that will earn revenues (and can be done strictly from home). Again, this is not a job search site.

Thanks for you comment, Susan. And good luck in your endeavors!

Hi Randy,

Thank you for posting your thoughts about GoMatador.com! Very shortly we will also be listing home-office W2′ed employment opportunities. However, your assertion is correct. At this time we feature home-based business opportunities ONLY.

Thank you for posting the clip from our Terms of Service. I would like to point out that we research and review every profile on our site to make sure that 1.) it is not a scam 2.) no claims of unrealistic income is made and 3.) it is a researchable and accountable organization.

Bottom line, we believe that in today’s economy, there should be a safe and trusted place to look for a home-based income solution. Yes, we are a very new site (public launch was Nov. 1, 2009) and we appreciate the mention here!

Susan, thank you for liking what we are doing. Congrats on the lead success. We have had over 7,000 people searching on GoMatador.com last week.

If anyone has any questions about GoMatador.com, please feel free to contact us at info@GoMatador.com
