Work from Home Jobs - The Final List?

This week's work from home jobs have been collected and screened for you. While there is no bonus job this week, several of the positions in the list look interesting, including positions with American Express, Starwood Hotes and more.

This week's work from home jobs list will likely be the last one I prepare. I've been preparing this list for you each week since at least the end of 2007. Since that time, I haven't heard from one of you that you found a job from the work from home job leads I've provided.

There's an old saying, perhaps an old Chinese proverb that goes something like this:
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
So, I'm seriously thinking rather than going through and gathering these jobs for you every week, my time would be better spent providing you with more information on how to find legitimate work from home jobs and screen them yourself. It's also very important to me that I focus on my site's main purpose - starting and running a home business.

Leave a comment if you'd like. I'd like to hear your feedback. However, since my readership for this feature hasn't grown that much in all the time I've been offering it to you (with the exception of one wild and crazy month last August), I really have to question if continuing to list these jobs every week is the best way to serve my readers.

Hey Randy!

I’ll be the first to admit I’ve never really looked at your regular work from home job listings. I’d read the titles, but rarely did they seem to apply to me.

Personally, I think your blog is MUCH stronger in its other offerings. I cannot express how helpful your social media advice has been for a grouchy writer like me. Your entries about different types of businesses, specialties, the attention to detail behind business, and, well, everything else have been absolutely invaluable.

One entry from a few months ago brought me to tears. I of course forgot the title, but it was about “going for it” and being willing to do what it takes to succeed. Stuff like that is everywhere online, but your take was different: you dared us to actually question our goals.

At the beginning of this year, you said you wanted to change the blog into something newer and fresher. You’ve succeeded! Unlike last year, this year I find myself reading your blog as often as I can!

I fear the day I log in and find you’ve left About.com. Your blog is truly stellar. Job listings or not.

Randy,

I look forward each Tuesday to your blog and job offerings for the week.

It’s quite helpful to know you’ve screened the jobs and offer only what you know to be legitimate. There are too many scams out there.

I’ve not located a job thru your postings but have gained valuable information and learned alot about industries never considered. That’s valuable.

I will miss this valuable input.

Thanks so much for your comment – it tells me a lot. I think the post you’re referring to is 14 Tips to Get Off the Schneid and Change Your Life. I’m really glad that struck home with some of my readers.

Your comments about my goals for the blog I set earlier this year also mean a lot to me, as it shows that you care about what I set out to do.

Thanks again for your kind comments and for being a loyal reader. Feedback like this is invaluable.

Thanks for your comment. I’m glad you got something out of them. My thinking is that I offer more tips on how you can screen these openings, just the way I do (and maybe even better than I have the time for), you’ll be able to do it for yourself in the future, no matter where you might find the job posting.

It’s been difficult to find the right mix of jobs. Sometimes I think there are too many high tech listings, for example. By providing guidance that applies to everyone instead of listings that suit only a few people, my thinking is you should be able to sort out the types of listings for the kinds of jobs you qualify for and are interested in. Make sense?

And, my sincere hope is that I can provide the type of content that will encourage you to stop by on days besides just Tuesdays.

Randy,
My apologies for lack of feed back. I, too, read your blog more for home business idea/inspiration than for work at home jobs.

Your article about Getting off your Shreud (or something sorry I can’t remember the title) was very helpful. It gave me a burst of energy and excitement for starting up my own enterprise when I needed it, and the next thing I do when I sent this to you is look it up. I did save it,this time I’m printing it to up by my desk.

I am just started a blog myself this week, and am newly impressed by how professional yours is. The content is terrific.

Thanks for all you do for us,
Kathy English

Hey Randy,

I must admit, I stumbled across your site trying to get hired for about.com. However, me finding you has been a blessing. I am a single mother who works from home. I have been able to find jobs through your blog for myself as well for my friends. I would hate to see you go, but I do understand. If you are willing to teach me exactly what you do in researching these legitimate jobs, I would be happy to take it over and continue what you started.

Thanks again for all you have done and the directions you have pointed out.

Thanks for taking the time to comment and provide some feedback. The post you’re referring to is 14 Tips to Get Off the Schneid and Change Your Life and I’m glad you enjoyed it.

At the time I wrote it, I didn’t get a whole lot of feedback, but now I’m getting some positive vibes.

Thanks again. I hope you’ll continue to support the site and help me stay on target!

Thanks for your comment. I’m not going anywhere – just the weekly jobs list. As I said, I will provide additional pointers for finding those jobs on your own.

I appreciate your support of the site and hope you’ll continue applying for About.com writing positions as they come up.

I don’t think this post will help your wife too much, but future advice on finding work at home that will be featured here might.

I can see that your primary purpose in leaving your comment was to get a link to your site using jobhome as the anchor text. About 3 years or so ago, that was a pretty decent tactic for link building and SEO, even though all the links in this blog are nofollowed and won’t pass any PageRank. I have to admit, I even did it myself on occasion back then. However, today it gets you labeled as a spammer, and your comment actually went into the spam pile for this blog. I pulled it out and approved it to make this point.

For others like you, I’d suggest you consider using your own name or even the name of your site when you post and be genuine – don’t try gaming the system, in which case your comment is most likely to get trashed as spam. You still get the link, and people reading your comment may click your link to check you out, so you’ll get some traffic too. Plus, in the end, you won’t look so sleazy.

My blog gets bombarded with spam comments every day. I don’t always have the time to go through them to see if any are legitimate. Valid comments are always welcome and encouraged.

I strongly encourage all of you, be above board, be legit. Don’t spam.

Thanks,

Randy D.

There was no link. However, if you had put it there, there is no guarantee I would have allowed it. I welcome your input for finding work at home jobs. If this is a site of yours, you should just link from your name, where it’s allowed.

Thanks,

Randy D.
