What Kind of Work at Home Do You Do?
Primarily, I perform data entry and customer service duties. Also, miscellaneous duties are assigned from time to time.
How Did You Get to Work at Home?
My current VA job was definitely intended to be a work from home position. I would not have had it any other way. lol
Initially, I confidently approached my boss and asked if my professional VA services could be of service. When I expressed my skills, experience, etc ... without hesitation my boss said, "As a matter of fact, yes!"
The working relationship has been great ever since. :)
Tips and Tricks
- Know and be proud of who you are.
- Be confident in your skills/experiences and abilities so you can be ready at any given time to share what you can bring to an employer's table to help and enhance his/her business.
- Don't be shy or afraid to take the initiative. Sometimes it's well in order to simply approach an employer to see if he/she could use your services. In my case, the approach paid off :)
- Be diligent ... don't give up! If you feel it strongly within (as I did) that you will work from home, then pursue it until it happens.
